
Petrobras said that tax debts of 5.7b reais became final at the administrative level after a decision by Brazil’s tax court known as Carf, according to a statement.
- Carf dismissed the appeals filed by Petrobras and decided that IRPJ and CSLL taxes on the firm’s overseas subsidiary profits are due for both 2011, 2012 fiscal-years
- The company said it will seek appropriate legal measures to appeal the charge, as well as guarantee the debt
- “The expectation of losing this contingency is considered possible, and Carf’s decision does not imply provisioning in the company’s financial statements”, the company said
