When Circuit Judge Alice Gray sent Jeremy Hutchinson to jail Thursday for contempt of court in failing to make child support payments, she didn’t issue a final order on all financial claims by his ex, Stephanie Hutchinson.
He’s jailed now under a cash bond of $524,000 over unpaid child support, plus interest, for his three children. But the judge also indicated Thursday he’d be responsible for other payments owed for education, health insurance and other expenses under an agreement he made with his wife in their 2011 divorce.
The judge issued a supplemental order today setting the former Republican senator’s full obligation at $629,897.78. The sum will accrue interest at a rate of 5.75 percent.
But wait. There’s more.
The judge also awarded attorney fees to Stephanie Hutchinson — $51,000, or about 10 percent of the child support in arrears.
Hutchinson remains jailed in the Pulaski County detention facility on Roosevelt Road.
He’s due in federal court in Little Rock Feb. 3 to be sentenced on tax fraud and bribery charges. Another federal court date, for sentencing on an unrelated bribery charge, awaits him in Springfield, Mo., but it has not been set.
