MNsure Enrollment Boasts 130K New Sign ups

(KNSI) – Minnesota says nearly 130,000 people signed up for coverage through the state’s health insurance marketplace during its tenth-anniversary enrollment.

MNsure says 129,537 Minnesotans got comprehensive health insurance on the exchange between November 1st, 2022, through January 15th. According to officials, nearly 60% of enrollees lowered their healthcare costs thanks to advanced premium tax credits. On average, MNsure enrollees will save $6,220 in 2023.

MNsure CEO Nate Clark called it one of the most successful enrollment periods.

Open enrollment by the numbers:
Private health plan sign-ups: 129,537
New Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare applicants: 29,100
Total accessing health coverage through MNsure: 158,637
Dental plan sign-ups: 29,745
Percentage of households receiving tax credits: 57%
