The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission will hold a hearing Feb. 13 on the proposed, 2023 medical service provider manual, which includes new fee schedules and an anesthesia conversion factor.

FairHealth, consultants hired in several states to analyze workers’ compensation fee schedules, have made a number of recommendations in the manual, which can be seen here. New billing and procedure codes have been added and obsolete ones have been deleted, FairHealth said.

The hearing will be held in the commission office, 1333 Main Street, in Columbia. Written comments may also be submitted by Feb. 8 to akeitt@wcc.sc.gov.

The commission said it will consider approval of the provider manual at its March 13 business meeting, and the approved manual will be effective starting April 1.
