Meanwhile, Baldwin has denied responsibility for her death. The state\u2019s Education Dept has blocked a new AP African American studies course from being offered in high schools. Over the 2022-23 school year, 60 schools across the country began testing out the college-level course as part of a pilot program. The course explores the experiences and contributions of African Americans\u00a0through literature, the arts, and geography<\/a>. But Florida \u2014 which reportedly has at least one high school in the pilot \u2014 said the class \u201csignificantly lacks educational value\u201d and goes against state law. Officials didn\u2019t explain their reasoning to the College Board, which oversees AP coursework. But state Sen. Shevrin Jones (D) called it an \u201cattack of Black History and Black people.\u201d It comes after Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) restricted\u00a0discussions of race<\/a>,\u00a0gender, and sexual orientation<\/a>\u00a0in classrooms.\u00a0<\/p>\n Free abortion pills<\/a>.
