(Photo: Screenshot\/YouTube.com\/KIRO 7 News)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><!-- HTML INSERTED AD --><\/p>\n<p>Jung Hyun Choi, a senior research associate at Urban Institute who has studied the home buying disparity, said the Habitat for Humanity initiative is the proper approach to minimize the gap between White and Black homeownership rates and assist people in repaying their debts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDebt-to-income ratio is one of the key reasons Black households are denied [mortgages],\u201d said Choi, according to The Times.<\/p>\n<p><!-- HTML INSERTED AD --><\/p>\n<p>A LendingTree analysis revealed that White home purchasers are more likely to receive mortgage approvals than Black buyers.
